Why they cost more →Every part is drawn from scratch, including the stud-and-socket tolerances that let a head turn and still hold its position. Nothing here is a downloaded file, which is the difference you cannot see in a photograph and notice immediately in the hand.
A 24" figure is about 60 hours on the machine and an 8" about 20 hours. The same geometry can be pushed through far faster. Speed is bought with layer adhesion and surface finish, and on a part this size both show.
We print the stock listed in the configurator by name and hex value, not whatever was cheapest that month. Budget filament is cheap because of what is in it — more filler, less consistent diameter, a weaker bond between layers. A large part made from it behaves like one.
Each piece is inspected, hand sanded through the grits, then given at least 5 coats of 2K Glamour Clear — the two-component automotive clear used on cars, catalysed rather than air-dried. That is hours per figure done by a person, and it is why the surface is hard enough to handle and reads as an object rather than as a print.
Editions are counted and closed. When a number is gone it is gone; we do not reprint a retired edition to meet demand.
